It has been quite the sumer and fall semester. I am sure we all have stories of our challenges, distractions, and frustrations. Me Too!!! Sometimes, they get in the way from allowing us to be our best. Me Too!!! Excuses start becoming more present in our daily actions than our ability to get started and complete the tasks needed for us to grow and achieve at a high level. Part of success is staying focused in order to navitgate these distractions and daily detours. It is about developing the commitment and developing the habits needed to get stuff done. I am still working on this...and I have realized that it starts right here. The fundamentals of overcoming the daily frustrations are right in front of me, and maybe, in front of you too. Here are just a few things to consider as we navigate the first steps.
Before it’s a habit, it’s uncomfortable.
Before it’s a habit, it’s inconvenient. Before it’s a habit, you’re bad at it.
Before it’s a habit, it’s an obstacle. Before it’s a habit, it’s frustrating.
Before it’s a habit, it’s difficult.
Everything you want is on the other side of uncomfortable
Everything you want is on the other side of inconvenient
Everything you want is on the other side of not being very good at it
Everything you want is on the other side of that challenge
Everything you want is on the other side of frustration
Everything you want is on the other side of hard.
Remember:
You control your thoughts
Your thoughts control your feelings
Your feelings control your attitude
Your attitude controls your actions
You Control Your Actions
Keep showing up. Do the work. Be Determined and Follow Through. Take positive steps and take action towards being the person that you want to be. If we want success, we need to make changes in order to achieve success. We can't just talk about who we want to be, we need to show up and take actions towards being who we want to be. Let's take those first steps.
